The Art Center of Western Colorado

The Art Center in Grand Junction is an amazing resource in so many ways. It is a gem of a gallery with rotating art exhibits reflecting wide mediums and styles. The center is home to Artability, a daily art program for a group that oftens gets overlooked and underserved – the mentally and physically disadvantaged. Besides Artability, there are youth and teen programs, classes and workshops for adults, a pottery center and a myriad of programs that include the public in every way.

I have to say that I am honored to be on the board of directors for this most dynamic art institution in Grand Junction. Beyond that, I volunteer to do demonstrations for Demo night – a collection of interactive artists providing live displays of a wide variety of artistic mediums.

The Holiday Arts and Craft Show

Coming up November 20th, 21st and 22nd is the 43rd annual Holiday Arts and Craft Show held at the Art Center
1803 North 7th Street Grand Junction, Colorado 81501

Friday, Nov. 20: 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (Member preview)
Saturday, Nov. 21: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 22: 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

I love this show and it is the 3rd year I've participated. Always an extraordinarily beautiful show – it is filled with handmade items, handcrafts, fine art, baked goods and a festive atmosphere – especially with our new dusting of snow on the mountains. Please plan on joining us if you can.

Color Creek Fiber Art is in its usual #11 booth. I have hand dyed silks in clothing and accessories, my new clothing line – gauchos, t-shirts and tank tops along with hats and headbands. Truly a feast for the eyes.
